SampleDrop a PDF or image to replace it. Multi-page PDF, JPG and PNG supported

Make a PDF look scanned, right in your browser

No printer or scanner needed. Scan Effect adds what a real scan has: toner grain, paper texture, a slight tilt and scanner shadows. Drop in a PDF or image, pick an effect and download a PDF or JPG that looks like it came off the scanner glass.

When it helps

A processed file only looks like a scan. Use it only for your own documents or ones you are authorized to handle, and never to forge certificates or deceive anyone.

High contrast and heavy toner, with the streaks and specks a copier leaves.

Printed & scanned

A laser print run through a scanner: grayscale with lighter marks.

Old paper, color

A color scan of yellowed paper with folds and uneven light.

Black & white

Pure black and white, like a fax or a B&W scanner.

Each effect has a strength slider, and More settings lets you fine-tune over twenty details such as toner, paper, tilt and noise. Texture positions are random every time; click Shuffle texture to get a new variation.

FAQ

How do I make a PDF look scanned?

Drop the PDF onto this page, pick Photocopy or Printed & scanned, then click Download PDF. Every page gets its own tilt and texture, so the result looks like a real scan.

Can I make a Word document look scanned?

Export it as a PDF first, then add the PDF here. See Word to scanned PDF for the steps.

How do I make a black and white scan?

Choose the Black & white effect for pure black and white. For a grayscale photocopy look, pick Photocopy. You can also switch between color, grayscale and B&W under More settings → Color.

Can I copy an ID card front and back?

Yes. Use ID card copy to put both sides on one A4 page. Only for your own ID, or with the holder’s permission.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Everything runs in your browser. Your files never reach a server and are gone when you close the page.

How sharp is the output?

The default is 150 dpi, which is fine for sending and archiving. Switch to 200 or 300 dpi under More settings → Output.

Can I add a signature or stamp?

Yes. Draw your signature, type your name in a handwriting font, or upload a photo of your signature and the background is removed. Stamps must be a photo of your own stamp; the tool does not generate stamps. Use signatures and stamps only on your own documents or ones you are authorized to sign.

Is it free? Do I need an account?

It’s free, with no sign-up and nothing to install. It works in any modern browser on desktop or mobile.
